Psalm 114
NLT Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationInternational Standard Version
1When the Israelites escaped from Egypt— when the family of Jacob left that foreign land—1When Israel came out of Egypt— the household of Jacob from a people of foreign speech—
2the land of Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel became his kingdom.2Judah became his sanctuary and Israel his place of dominion.
3The Red Sea saw them coming and hurried out of their way! The water of the Jordan River turned away.3The sea saw this and fled, the Jordan River ran backwards,
4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs!4the mountains skipped like rams, and the hills like lambs.
5What’s wrong, Red Sea, that made you hurry out of their way? What happened, Jordan River, that you turned away?5What happened to you, sea, that you fled? Jordan, that you ran backwards?
6Why, mountains, did you skip like rams? Why, hills, like lambs?6Mountains, that you skipped like rams? and you hills, that you skipped like lambs?
7Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.7Tremble then, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8He turned the rock into a pool of water; yes, a spring of water flowed from solid rock.8who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flinty rock into flowing springs.
