Psalm 114
NLT Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew American Standard Bible 1995
1When the Israelites escaped from Egypt— when the family of Jacob left that foreign land—1When Israel went forth from Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
2the land of Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel became his kingdom.2Judah became His sanctuary, Israel, His dominion.
3The Red Sea saw them coming and hurried out of their way! The water of the Jordan River turned away.3The sea looked and fled; The Jordan turned back.
4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs!4The mountains skipped like rams, The hills, like lambs.
5What’s wrong, Red Sea, that made you hurry out of their way? What happened, Jordan River, that you turned away?5What ails you, O sea, that you flee? O Jordan, that you turn back?
6Why, mountains, did you skip like rams? Why, hills, like lambs?6O mountains, that you skip like rams? O hills, like lambs?
7Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.7Tremble, O earth, before the Lord, Before the God of Jacob,
8He turned the rock into a pool of water; yes, a spring of water flowed from solid rock.8Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a fountain of water.
