| 3O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment? | 3What will be given to you, and what will be done to you, you treacherous tongue? |
| 4You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals. | 4Like a sharp arrow from a warrior, along with fiery coals from juniper trees! |
| 5How I suffer in far-off Meshech. It pains me to live in distant Kedar. | 5How terrible for me, that I am an alien in Meshech, that I reside among the tents of Kedar! |
| 6I am tired of living among people who hate peace. | 6I have resided too long with those who hate peace. |
