| 1I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? | 1I lift up my eyes toward the mountains— from where will my help come? |
| 2My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth! | 2My help is from the LORD, maker of heaven and earth. |
| 3He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. | 3He will never let your foot slip, nor will your guardian become drowsy. |
| 4Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. | 4Look! The one who is guarding Israel never sleeps and does not take naps. |
| 5The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. | 5The LORD is your guardian; the LORD is your shade at your right side. |
