New Living Translation | NET Bible |
Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. | 1By David. Praise the LORD, O my soul! With all that is within me, praise his holy name! |
Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me. | 2Praise the LORD, O my soul! Do not forget all his kind deeds! |
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. | 3He is the one who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, |
He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. | 4who delivers your life from the Pit, who crowns you with his loyal love and compassion, |
He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! | 5who satisfies your life with good things, so your youth is renewed like an eagle's. |
The LORD gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly. | 6The LORD does what is fair, and executes justice for all the oppressed. |
He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel. | 7The LORD revealed his faithful acts to Moses, his deeds to the Israelites. |
The LORD is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. | 8The LORD is compassionate and merciful; he is patient and demonstrates great loyal love. |
He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. | 9He does not always accuse, and does not stay angry. |
He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. | 10He does not deal with us as our sins deserve; he does not repay us as our misdeeds deserve. |
For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. | 11For as the skies are high above the earth, so his loyal love towers over his faithful followers. |
He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. | 12As far as the eastern horizon is from the west, so he removes the guilt of our rebellious actions from us. |
The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. | 13As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on his faithful followers. |
For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. | 14For he knows what we are made of; he realizes we are made of clay. |
Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. | 15A person's life is like grass. Like a flower in the field it flourishes, |
The wind blows, and we are gone— as though we had never been here. | 16but when the hot wind blows by, it disappears, and one can no longer even spot the place where it once grew. |
But the love of the LORD remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children | 17But the LORD continually shows loyal love to his faithful followers, and is faithful to their descendants, |
of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments! | 18to those who keep his covenant, who are careful to obey his commands. |
The LORD has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything. | 19The LORD has established his throne in heaven; his kingdom extends over everything. |
Praise the LORD, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands. | 20Praise the LORD, you angels of his, you powerful warriors who carry out his decrees and obey his orders! |
Yes, praise the LORD, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will! | 21Praise the LORD, all you warriors of his, you servants of his who carry out his desires! |
Praise the LORD, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom. Let all that I am praise the LORD. | 22Praise the LORD, all that he has made, in all the regions of his kingdom! Praise the LORD, O my soul! |
