| 2Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, both now and forever. | 2As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, now and forevermore. |
| 3The wicked will not rule the land of the godly, for then the godly might be tempted to do wrong. | 3Indeed, the scepter of a wicked king will not settle upon the allotted land of the godly. Otherwise the godly might do what is wrong. |
