Psalm 147
NLT Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew International Version
Praise the LORD! How good to sing praises to our God! How delightful and how fitting!1Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!
The LORD is rebuilding Jerusalem and bringing the exiles back to Israel.2The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.3He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
He counts the stars and calls them all by name.4He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!5Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.
The LORD supports the humble, but he brings the wicked down into the dust.6The LORD sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.
Sing out your thanks to the LORD; sing praises to our God with a harp.7Sing to the LORD with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp.
He covers the heavens with clouds, provides rain for the earth, and makes the grass grow in mountain pastures.8He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.
He gives food to the wild animals and feeds the young ravens when they cry.9He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.
He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might.10His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;
No, the LORD’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.11the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.
Glorify the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!12Extol the LORD, Jerusalem; praise your God, Zion.
For he has strengthened the bars of your gates and blessed your children within your walls.13He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you.
He sends peace across your nation and satisfies your hunger with the finest wheat.14He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.
He sends his orders to the world— how swiftly his word flies!15He sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.
He sends the snow like white wool; he scatters frost upon the ground like ashes.16He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.
He hurls the hail like stones. Who can stand against his freezing cold?17He hurls down his hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast?
Then, at his command, it all melts. He sends his winds, and the ice thaws.18He sends his word and melts them; he stirs up his breezes, and the waters flow.
He has revealed his words to Jacob, his decrees and regulations to Israel.19He has revealed his word to Jacob, his laws and decrees to Israel.
He has not done this for any other nation; they do not know his regulations. Praise the LORD!20He has done this for no other nation; they do not know his laws. Praise the LORD.
