Psalm 147
NLT Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationKing James Bible
Praise the LORD! How good to sing praises to our God! How delightful and how fitting!1Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
The LORD is rebuilding Jerusalem and bringing the exiles back to Israel.2The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.3He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
He counts the stars and calls them all by name.4He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!5Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
The LORD supports the humble, but he brings the wicked down into the dust.6The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
Sing out your thanks to the LORD; sing praises to our God with a harp.7Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
He covers the heavens with clouds, provides rain for the earth, and makes the grass grow in mountain pastures.8Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
He gives food to the wild animals and feeds the young ravens when they cry.9He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might.10He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
No, the LORD’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.11The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
Glorify the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!12Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.
For he has strengthened the bars of your gates and blessed your children within your walls.13For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
He sends peace across your nation and satisfies your hunger with the finest wheat.14He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.
He sends his orders to the world— how swiftly his word flies!15He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.
He sends the snow like white wool; he scatters frost upon the ground like ashes.16He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
He hurls the hail like stones. Who can stand against his freezing cold?17He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
Then, at his command, it all melts. He sends his winds, and the ice thaws.18He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
He has revealed his words to Jacob, his decrees and regulations to Israel.19He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
He has not done this for any other nation; they do not know his regulations. Praise the LORD!20He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
