Applying Jesus' healing daily?
How can we apply Jesus' example of healing to our daily lives?

The Scene in the Temple

“ The blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.” (Matthew 21:14)

Truths We Can Trust

• The Gospel writers record literal events; Jesus truly restored broken bodies on that Jerusalem afternoon.

• His public healings confirm Isaiah 53:4-5 and reveal the heart of God—compassion wedded to power.

Hebrews 13:8 anchors the account in our present: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

What Jesus Shows Us About Healing

• Accessibility: He welcomed the needy “in the temple,” right where worship was taking place.

• Compassion: No screening, no delay—only open arms (cf. Mark 1:41).

• Authority: Every disease bowed, fulfilling Matthew 8:17.

• Holiness: Healing followed His cleansing of the courts (Matthew 21:12-13); purity and power flow together.

Daily Ways to Mirror His Healing Heart

• Keep the door open—maintain a welcoming posture toward hurting people at work, school, and home.

• Pray expectantly—obey James 5:14-16 by laying hands on the sick and believing God to act.

• Guard the “temple” of your life—repent quickly so nothing hinders the Spirit’s flow (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

• Speak life—offer words that strengthen faith (Proverbs 18:21; Luke 4:22).

• Serve practically—meals, rides to appointments, childcare; love often arrives in ordinary packaging.

• Share the Gospel—healing ultimately points to salvation (Acts 3:6-8 with 3:19).

Standing on His Promises

Matthew 10:1—He delegates authority to His followers.

John 14:12—“Whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing.”

1 Corinthians 12:9—gifts of healings remain active in the body of Christ.

Walking It Out Today

Jesus healed openly in the temple so everyone could see that God’s kingdom had arrived. As His Spirit-filled people, we host that same kingdom wherever we go. By staying available, compassionate, prayer-saturated, and pure, we position ourselves to channel His healing touch into everyday moments—for His glory and for the good of a hurting world.
