How can our lives lead others to Jesus?
In what ways can we lead others to Jesus through our transformed lives?

A Living Witness: John 12:11

“because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus.” (John 12:11)

Lazarus didn’t preach a sermon—his very existence after resurrection pointed people to Christ. Our own transformed lives can do the same.

The Ripple Effect of a Changed Life

• God’s work in us is designed to be seen (Matthew 5:16).

• Authentic change provokes curiosity, opening doors for Gospel conversations (Acts 4:13).

• Visible transformation authenticates the message we share (1 Thessalonians 1:6-8).

Marks of a Life That Points to Jesus

– New Identity: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

• Speak of past deliverance without glorifying sin.

• Highlight Christ’s power, not personal willpower.

– Consistent Integrity: “Let your ‘Yes’ be yes.” (James 5:12)

• Keep promises, repay debts, honor commitments.

• Consistency builds credibility for the Gospel.

– Servant-Hearted Love: “By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:35)

• Meet practical needs.

• Welcome outsiders into your home and circle.

– Joyful Endurance: “Rejoice in hope, be patient in affliction.” (Romans 12:12)

• Trials become platforms to display unshakeable hope.

• Peace under pressure turns heads toward Christ’s sufficiency.

– Humble Repentance: “Confess your sins to one another.” (James 5:16)

• Admit failures quickly.

• Model the Gospel by showing how forgiveness works in real time.

Practical Steps for Daily Influence

• Start at Home: Prioritize godliness where you’re best known; family testimony is hardest to fake.

• Engage Community: Volunteer, coach, serve—let neighbors see faith in action.

• Guard Speech: Replace gossip with grace (Ephesians 4:29).

• Practice Generosity: Budget with giving in mind; generosity reflects the Father’s heart (2 Corinthians 9:7).

• Stay Word-Saturated: Regular Scripture intake keeps transformation fresh and noticeable (Psalm 1:2-3).

• Pray by Name: Intercede for those watching you; God softens hearts as He shapes yours (Colossians 4:3-4).

Counting the Cost

“Because of Lazarus, the chief priests made plans to kill Lazarus as well.” (John 12:10)

Living proof of Christ’s power can attract opposition. The cost underscores authenticity and magnifies Christ’s worth (2 Timothy 3:12).

The Ultimate Goal

Our transformed lives are signposts, not destinations. Like Lazarus, we quietly, persistently point beyond ourselves to the One who brings the dead to life. As people observe resurrection power worked out in our daily routines, many will “go away” from old allegiances and believe in Jesus.
