How does God's deliverance boost our trust?
In what ways should God's deliverance influence our trust in His promises today?

The God Who Delivers

Leviticus 25:38 declares, “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan and to be your God.”

• Egypt was a real place, the Exodus a real event.

• Because He literally rescued Israel, He stakes every promise on proven history.

• Our trust today rests on the same unchanging, covenant-keeping LORD.

Past Rescue, Present Confidence

Scripture links what God has done with what He will do:

Exodus 14:13-14—“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Deuteronomy 7:9—His faithfulness spans “a thousand generations.”

2 Corinthians 1:10—“He has delivered…He will deliver…He will yet again deliver.”

The pattern: past deliverance → present trust → future hope.

Promises Built on Character, Not Circumstance

• He is “the LORD your God” (personal, covenantal).

• He “brought you out” (powerful, active).

• He “gave you the land” (generous, purposeful).

• He intends “to be your God” (relational, permanent).

Because His character never shifts (Hebrews 13:8), no promise wavers.

Christ: The Greater Exodus

• The cross is the ultimate “bringing out” (Colossians 1:13).

Romans 8:32 reasons from that rescue: if God gave His Son, “how will He not also…freely give us all things?”

• Every New-Covenant promise is guaranteed by a completed salvation.

Practical Ways Deliverance Fuels Trust

1. Rehearse the record—read Exodus, the Gospels, personal testimonies.

2. Replace fear—remind your heart that God fought Egypt and death itself.

3. Obey with expectation—step forward as Israel marched toward Canaan.

4. Worship—gratitude grows confidence (Psalm 77:11).

5. Share—telling others refreshes your own faith (Revelation 12:11).

When Promises Seem Slow

• Remember the 400-year wait before the Exodus; God was still working.

• Recall wilderness lessons: delays refine, not deny, His word.

• Anchor in 2 Peter 1:3-4—He has already granted “everything we need.”

Verses to Meditate On

Psalm 105:42—“For He remembered His holy promise to Abraham.”

Joshua 21:45—“Not one of all the LORD’s good promises to Israel failed.”

Isaiah 46:4—“I will carry you; I will sustain you.”

Let yesterday’s deliverance settle today’s questions and tomorrow’s uncertainties: the God who brought His people out still keeps every promise He makes.
