How can we encourage others to seek Jesus' healing in their own lives? Seeing the Pattern in Matthew 14:35 “And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to Him.” – Recognition leads to action: they “recognized” Jesus’ presence. – Action leads to invitation: they “sent word” to everyone around. – Invitation leads to healing: “People brought all their sick to Him.” – The sequence still works today. Let Others Know Jesus Is Near – Speak of what He has done in your own life (Mark 5:19). – Share Scripture that shows His compassion (Matthew 11:28; Hebrews 13:8). – Keep your tone hopeful, not pushy; trust the Spirit to draw hearts (John 6:44). Create Pathways, Not Obstacles – Offer practical help—rides, reminders, childcare—so people can attend church or prayer gatherings (Mark 2:3-4). – Provide clear information: service times, small-group details, online links. – Remove stigma by normalizing the need for healing; everyone brought to Jesus had needs (Luke 5:31-32). Model Faith in Action – Pray aloud for healing when appropriate (James 5:14-16). – Celebrate answered prayers publicly (Psalm 107:2). – Maintain expectancy: “all who touched Him were healed” (Matthew 14:36). Connect Them to Jesus’ Words – John 5:6 — He still asks, “Do you want to get well?” – Mark 10:52 — “Go, your faith has healed you.” – Acts 3:16 — Faith in His name brings strength and wholeness. Share Testimonies Wisely – Keep stories Christ-centered, not self-centered (Revelation 12:11). – Use everyday language; avoid exaggeration. – Give glory to God for both immediate and gradual healings. Guard the Atmosphere of Faith – Speak life, not doubt (Proverbs 18:21). – Surround seekers with supportive believers (1 Thessalonians 5:11). – Encourage persistence; some healings unfold over time (Luke 18:1). Expect Jesus to Respond – His compassion has not changed (Hebrews 4:15-16). – He honors faith, whether large or small (Matthew 17:20). – Trust His timing and method; He knows what brings ultimate good (Romans 8:28). |
