How to invite God's presence daily?
How can we ensure God's presence dwells in our lives today?

The Ark in Solomon’s Temple: A Picture of God’s Presence

2 Chronicles 6:11 – “There I have placed the ark in which is the covenant of the LORD that He made with the children of Israel.”

• Covenant: the chest held the tablets of testimony, reminding Israel of God’s binding promise.

• Holiness: gold overlay and the mercy seat declared His purity.

• Nearness: the cloud of glory rested above it, proving He wanted to dwell among His people.

Christ, the True Ark Among Us

John 1:14 – “The Word became flesh and tabernacled among us.”

Colossians 1:27 – “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Hebrews 9:11-12 – Jesus entered the greater, perfect tabernacle with His own blood.

The ark foreshadowed Jesus. In Him, God’s presence moved from a golden box to a living Person; by the Spirit He now lives in every believer (Acts 2:1-4).

Receiving His Indwelling through the New Covenant

• Repent and believe (Acts 2:38).

• Confess Him as Lord (Romans 10:9-10).

• Seal the commitment in baptism (Matthew 28:19).

John 14:23 – “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word… We will come to him and make Our home with him.” Salvation unites the believer to God’s abiding presence.

Walking in Covenant Obedience

God’s presence thrives where His word is honored.

• Let “the word of Christ dwell in you richly” (Colossians 3:16).

• Meditate “day and night” (Joshua 1:8).

• Live what you read—“blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it” (Luke 11:28).

A Lifestyle that Welcomes Him

• Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

• Praise continually—He “inhabits the praises of Israel” (Psalm 22:3).

• Gather faithfully with other believers (Hebrews 10:24-25).

• Stay Spirit-filled (Ephesians 5:18-20).

• Honor your body as His temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

• Express love in action (1 John 4:12).

Guarding the Temple of Our Hearts

• Flee idolatry (1 Corinthians 10:14; 1 John 5:21).

• Renounce secret sin that grieves the Spirit (Ephesians 4:30).

• Walk in ongoing repentance and cleansing (1 John 1:9; Hebrews 10:22).

The Promise That Sustains Us

Matthew 28:20 – “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Through faith in Christ, daily obedience, worship, and holiness, the believer becomes a living sanctuary. The God who once dwelt above the ark now delights to dwell within hearts fully yielded to Him.
