How to live God's purpose daily?
How can we fulfill God's purposes in our daily lives?

Heart of the Passage

“After removing Saul, He raised up David as their king and testified about him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after My own heart; he will carry out My will in its entirety.’” (Acts 13:22)

God’s commendation of David shows that fulfilling His purposes is less about position and more about disposition—a heart fully yielded to Him.

What Does It Mean to Be “After God’s Heart”?

• Wholehearted love—Matthew 22:37–38

• Swift obedience—John 14:15

• Humble repentance—Psalm 51:17

• Steadfast trust—Psalm 23:1

Daily Practices That Reflect God’s Heart

1. Seek Him First

• Begin each day with His Word (Psalm 119:105).

• Invite His searching (Psalm 139:23–24).

2. Walk in Ongoing Surrender

• “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice” (Romans 12:1).

• Let every task become worship—“whatever you do…do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).

3. Act on What You Hear

• “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only” (James 1:22).

• Small acts of obedience prepare us for larger assignments (Luke 16:10).

4. Love People Intentionally

• The two great commands wrap up God’s whole law (Matthew 22:39–40).

• Serve with the gifts He’s given (1 Peter 4:10).

Staying in Step with the Spirit

• Abide in Christ—“Apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).

• Rely on His empowering presence (Galatians 5:22–23).

• Keep short accounts: confess quickly when you miss the mark (1 John 1:9).

Guarding Against Drift

• Watch the heart more than the appearance (1 Samuel 16:7).

• Avoid spiritual complacency—“Be careful how you walk…making the most of every opportunity” (Ephesians 5:15–16).

• Surround yourself with godly counsel (Proverbs 27:17).

Culmination: Living Purposefully Every Day

“We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life” (Ephesians 2:10, adapted from).

Aligning with God’s heart through love, obedience, and ongoing surrender positions us—like David—to carry out His will in its entirety, fulfilling His purposes right where we are, every single day.
