How to show love for God fully?
In what ways can we demonstrate love for God with all our heart?

The Greatest Command Revisited

“Jesus declared, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’” (Matthew 22:37)

What “All Your Heart” Signifies

• Total affection—nothing rivaling His place (Deuteronomy 6:5)

• Undivided loyalty—no hidden corners kept back (Psalm 86:11)

• Deepest motives shaped by His Word (Hebrews 4:12)

Everyday Ways to Show Whole-Hearted Love

• Prefer His presence

– Set aside unhurried time for Scripture and praise (Psalm 119:10; Psalm 1:2)

• Choose ready obedience

– “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” (John 14:15)

– Obedience even when costly (Luke 9:23)

• Trust Him fully

– “Trust in the LORD with all your heart…” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

– Refuse anxiety; replace it with prayer and gratitude (Philippians 4:6-7)

• Offer your whole life in worship

– Present body, schedule, resources as “living sacrifices” (Romans 12:1)

– Work, study, and leisure done “in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Colossians 3:17)

• Guard against idols

– Examine habits, relationships, ambitions—anything edging Him out (1 John 5:21)

• Love people sacrificially

– The second command flows from the first (Matthew 22:39)

– Tangible service reveals genuine love for God (1 John 4:20-21)

Heart-Maintenance Practices

• Continual self-examination before His Word (Psalm 139:23-24)

• Confession and quick repentance when conviction comes (1 John 1:9)

• Fellowship with believers who stir up love and good works (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Encouragement for the Journey

“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.” (1 John 5:3)

Whole-hearted love is possible because He first loved us (1 John 4:19); as we abide in that love, our hearts grow ever more wholly His.

How does Matthew 22:34 connect with Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18?
