Invite Jesus into talks & choices?
How can we invite Jesus into our conversations and decisions today?

Jesus Walks Into Our Conversations

Luke 24:15: “And as they talked and deliberated, Jesus Himself came up and walked along with them.”

• Two disciples were deep in discussion; Jesus literally joined the chat.

• He did not wait for a formal invitation—He drew near because their talk centered on Him.

• Scripture records this as historical fact, teaching that the risen Christ still steps into real-time dialogue.

Recognizing His Nearness

Matthew 28:20—“I am with you always” affirms His ongoing presence.

Revelation 3:20—He stands at the door and knocks; opening is a conscious act.

• Wherever talk involves His name and truth, He is there (Matthew 18:20).

Inviting Him Into Everyday Conversations

1. Begin with His Word

– Read a short passage together or alone before important discussions.

Psalm 119:105: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

2. Speak His Name Out Loud

– A simple “Let’s bring Jesus into this” honors Him and refocuses hearts.

Colossians 3:17: “Whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.”

3. Stay Attentive to Gentle Nudges

John 14:26 describes the Spirit reminding us of Jesus’ words; pause and listen.

4. Affirm Truth When It Appears

– When Scripture aligns with the topic, quote it directly, just as Jesus did on the Emmaus road (Luke 24:27).

Bringing Jesus Into Decisions

• Pray Scripture Back to Him

Proverbs 3:5-6; James 1:5 guide honest requests for direction.

• Check Motives Against His Commands

1 Corinthians 10:31: aim for His glory, not personal acclaim.

• Submit Timelines to His Sovereignty

Acts 1:7 reminds that seasons belong to the Father.

• Seek Confirming Counsel From Believers Immersed in the Word

Proverbs 15:22: plans established by many advisors whose authority is Scripture.

• Move Forward in Faith, Not Fear

2 Timothy 1:7: He gives power, love, and sound judgment.

Living the Emmaus Pattern

• Talk about Jesus consistently.

• Expect Him to join.

• Let His revealed Word interpret the moment.

• Act on the clarity He gives, just as the disciples hurried back to Jerusalem with burning hearts (Luke 24:32-33).

He walked with them then; He walks with us now—literal, present, faithful.
