Relying on God's power today?
How can we rely on God's power as described in Numbers 23:22 today?

The Original Declaration of Power

“God brought them out of Egypt; He has the strength of a wild ox.” (Numbers 23:22)

• Israel’s rescue from Egypt is presented as a once-for-all demonstration of raw, unmatched divine strength.

• The “wild ox” image points to unstoppable, unwearied force—strength that does not tire or diminish.

The Same God, the Same Strength

Malachi 3:6 — “For I, the Lord, do not change.”

Psalm 102:27 — “You remain the same, and Your years will never end.”

Hebrews 13:8 — “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Because God’s nature is immutable, the strength He displayed then is fully available now.

Where We Lean on His Power Today

• Salvation: Ephesians 2:8-9 — saved by grace, not our own effort.

• Freedom from sin’s grip: Romans 6:6-14 — His resurrection power breaks slavery to sin.

• Daily obedience: Philippians 2:13 — “for it is God who works in you both to will and to act.”

• Endurance in trials: Isaiah 40:29-31 — strength to the weary, power to the weak.

• Bold witness: Acts 1:8 — “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.”

• Spiritual warfare: Ephesians 6:10-18 — “be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.”

• Kingdom service: Colossians 1:28-29 — we “strive according to His power, which so powerfully works” in us.

Practical Ways to Draw on That Strength

• Immerse in Scripture daily; faith is fueled by hearing God’s Word (Romans 10:17).

• Pray specifically for empowerment (Ephesians 3:16).

• Obey promptly; power is often supplied in motion, not in hesitation (Joshua 3:13-17).

• Stay filled with the Spirit through worship and gratitude (Ephesians 5:18-20).

• Surround yourself with believers who speak truth and encouragement (Hebrews 10:24-25).

• Recall past deliverances; testimony strengthens present trust (Psalm 77:11-14).

Living Illustrations of Divine Strength

• David facing Goliath — 1 Samuel 17:45-47: “The battle belongs to the Lord.”

• Peter’s boldness after Pentecost — Acts 4:13: uneducated men empowered to confound authorities.

• Paul’s contentment — Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

• The early church’s endurance — 2 Corinthians 4:7-9: treasure in jars of clay, “the surpassing power is from God, and not from us.”

Walking Forward in Confidence

God’s strength that shattered Egypt’s chains now dwells within every believer through the Holy Spirit. As we trust, obey, and stay rooted in His Word, we experience the same unstoppable power—sufficient for salvation, service, and every circumstance of life.
