Which texts show faith's power?
What other scriptures emphasize faith's ability to achieve the impossible?

Luke 17:6 — Faith’s Quiet Power

“ ‘If you have faith like a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, “Be uprooted and planted in the sea,” and it would obey you.’ ” (Luke 17:6)

God’s Word is perfectly reliable; even the tiniest trust in Him carries literal, world-shaping force.

Echoes in the Gospels

Matthew 17:20 — “Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 21:21-22 — Mountains obey believing prayer.

Mark 11:22-24 — “Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

John 14:12-14 — Works like Jesus’, and greater, flow from faith-filled requests made in His Name.

Old Testament Snapshots of the Impossible Becoming Reality

Genesis 18:14 — “Is anything too difficult for the LORD?” (Sarah’s promised son).

Exodus 14:21-22 — Sea parts as Moses stretches out his staff in obedience.

Joshua 6:20 — Jericho’s walls fall when Israel believes and shouts.

Joshua 10:12-14 — Sun and moon stand still at Joshua’s word of faith.

1 Samuel 17:45-50 — David trusts God and Goliath falls.

1 Kings 18:36-38 — Fire answers Elijah’s prayer.

Daniel 3 & 6 — Fiery furnace and lions’ den become showcases of deliverance for those who “trusted in their God.”

Jeremiah 32:17, 27 — The Creator affirms that nothing is too hard for Him.

Hebrews 11 — The Hall of Faith

• v.1 — Faith treats God’s promises as present realities.

• v.3 — Worlds formed “by God’s command.”

• vv.7-12 — Noah, Abraham, Sarah receive what seemed impossible.

• vv.32-34 — Kingdoms conquered, mouths of lions shut, weakness turned to strength.

Faith repeatedly crosses the line from improbable to miraculous because God Himself stands behind every promise.

Faith and the Believer Today

Romans 4:17-21 — Abraham “fully convinced that God was able to do what He had promised.”

Ephesians 3:20 — God “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.”

Philippians 4:13 — “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

1 John 5:4 — Faith overcomes the world.

James 1:6 — Ask “in faith, without doubting.”

James 5:15-18 — Prayer of faith heals the sick; Elijah’s faith shuts and opens the heavens.

Living in Mustard-Seed Confidence

• Anchor every request to a clear promise of Scripture.

• Speak and act in line with that promise, just as the saints listed above did.

• Expect God’s fidelity; He cannot lie, and He delights to glorify His Name through believing hearts.
