Their privileged service required reverence and obedience to God’s appointed order. Though a Levite entrusted with tabernacle service, he sought a position God had not given him. Korah’s sons, however, did not perish in his rebellion (Numbers 26:11), and their descendants later served as gatekeepers and musicians in the worship of the Lord.
