Having seen Rebekah’s willing hospitality and learned her family identity, he recognized that the Lord had answered his prayer and prospered his mission. God’s faithfulness to Abraham’s household was now being displayed in the provision of a wife for Isaac, through whom the promised line would continue. Exo 3:6 Then He said, “I am the God of your father,”… who led me on the right road The journey to Mesopotamia had not been directed by chance. God guided the servant to the proper place, at the proper time, and to the proper family. The right road included both the physical route and the successful fulfillment of Abraham’s charge. Her selection preserved Isaac’s marriage within Abraham’s extended family and protected the covenant line from union with the Canaanites.
