Majesty

In the biblical context, "majesty" refers to the greatness, splendor, and sovereign power of God. It is a term that encapsulates the divine glory and authority that belong to God alone. The majesty of God is often depicted in Scripture as being beyond human comprehension, yet it is revealed through His creation, His acts, and His presence.

The Psalms frequently celebrate the majesty of God. Psalm 93:1 declares, "The LORD reigns, He is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved." This verse highlights the inseparable link between God's majesty and His sovereign rule over creation. His majesty is not only a matter of appearance but also of authority and power.

In the New Testament, the majesty of God is revealed in the person of Jesus Christ. Hebrews 1:3 states, "The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature, upholding all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high." Here, the term "Majesty" is used as a title for God, emphasizing His supreme authority and the exalted position of Christ.

The majesty of God is also a source of comfort and assurance for believers. It assures them of His ultimate control over all things and His ability to fulfill His promises. The recognition of God's majesty leads to worship, reverence, and awe, as seen in Revelation 4:11 : "Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and came to be."

Strength

The concept of "strength" in the Bible is closely associated with God's power and might. It is a fundamental attribute of God, often linked with His ability to protect, deliver, and sustain His people. God's strength is both a source of security for believers and a demonstration of His divine nature.

In the Old Testament, God's strength is frequently depicted in His acts of deliverance and protection. Exodus 15:2 proclaims, "The LORD is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him." This verse, part of the Song of Moses, celebrates God's strength in delivering the Israelites from Egypt, highlighting His role as both Savior and Protector.

The Psalms often reflect on God's strength as a refuge and fortress for His people. Psalm 46:1 affirms, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble." This assurance of God's strength provides comfort and courage to believers facing trials and adversities.

In the New Testament, the strength of God is made perfect in human weakness. The Apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 12:9 , "But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me." Here, God's strength is shown to be transformative, enabling believers to endure and overcome through His power.

Believers are encouraged to rely on God's strength rather than their own. Ephesians 6:10 exhorts, "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power." This call to strength is not about human effort but about drawing from the inexhaustible power of God, which equips believers for spiritual battles and daily living.

The strength of God is a central theme throughout Scripture, underscoring His ability to accomplish His purposes and His faithfulness to His people. It is a reminder of His omnipotence and a call to trust in His unfailing power.
