Here, the failure to uphold truth results in the erosion of justice and righteousness, creating an environment where deceit thrives and those who seek to do good are vulnerable.

The New Testament continues this theme, emphasizing the transformative power of truth in the life of a believer. In John 8:44 , Jesus confronts the Pharisees, saying, "You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, refusing to uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies." This stark contrast between the devil, the embodiment of falsehood, and Christ, who is the truth (John 14:6), highlights the spiritual battle between truth and deceit.

The Apostle Paul further admonishes believers to stand firm in truth as part of the armor of God. In Ephesians 6:14 , he writes, "Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed." This metaphorical language underscores the necessity of truth as a foundational element in the spiritual defense against the schemes of the wicked.

Throughout Scripture, the wicked's failure to be valiant for truth is depicted as a deliberate choice that leads to spiritual blindness and separation from God. The righteous, in contrast, are called to embrace and uphold truth, reflecting the character of God and fostering a society grounded in justice and righteousness.
