The Leper’s Prayer
(Mark 1:40–45; Luke 5:12–16)

1And, when He came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. 2And, behold, a leper, coming near, was worshiping Him, saying, "Lord, if Thou art willing, Thou art able to cleanse me." 3And, stretching forth His hand, He touched him, saying, "I am willing. Be cleansed." And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 4And Jesus saith to him, "See that you tell no one: but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.

The Faith of the Centurion
(Luke 7:1–10; John 4:43–54)

5And, when He entered into Capernaum, there came to Him a centurion, beseeching Him. 6and saying, "Lord, my boy has been prostrated in my house, a paralytic, fearfully afflicted." 7And He saith to him, "Having gone, I will heal him." 8And the centurion, answering, said, "Lord, I am not worthy that Thou shouldest enter under my roof, but only speak in a word, and my boy shall be healed; 9for I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers; and I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." 10And Jesus, hearing it, wondered, and said to those following Him, "Verily I say to you, with no one in Israel did I find such faith. 11And I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the Kingdom of Heaven; 12but the sons of the Kingdom shall be cast out into the outer darkness; there will be the weeping, and the gnashing of teeth." 13And Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; as you believed, be it done to you." And the boy was healed in that hour.

Jesus Heals at Peter’s House
(Mark 1:29–34; Luke 4:38–41)

14And Jesus, coming into the house of Peter, saw his mother-in-law prostrate, and sick with fever; 15and He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she arose, and was ministering to Him. 16And, when it was evening, they brought to Him many demoniacs; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, 17that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, "Himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses."

The Cost of Discipleship
(Luke 9:57–62; Luke 14:25–33; John 6:59–66)

18And Jesus, seeing a multitude about Him, gave orders to depart to the other side. 19And a scribe, coming near, said to Him, "Teacher, I will follow Thee wheresoever Thou mayst go." 20And Jesus saith to him, "The foxes have dens; and the birds of the heaven have lodging-places; but the Son of Man hath not where to lay His head." 21And another of the disciples said to Him, "Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father." 22But Jesus saith to him, "Follow Me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead."

Jesus Calms the Storm
(Mark 4:35–41; Luke 8:22–25)

23And His disciples followed Him, as He entered into a boat. 24And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves; but He was sleeping. 25And, coming to Him, they awoke Him, saying, "Lord, save; we are perishing!" 26And He saith to them, "Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?" Then, having arisen, He rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. 27And the men wondered, saying, "What manner of Man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him!"

The Demons and the Pigs
(Mark 5:1–20; Luke 8:26–39)

28And, when He came to the other side, into the country of the Gadarenes, there met Him two demoniacs, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass along that way; 29and, behold, they cried out, saying, "What is there to us and to Thee, O Son of God? Didst Thou come here to torment us before the time?" 30Now there was afar off from them a herd of many swine feeding. 31And the demons were entreating Him, saying, "If Thou cast us out, send us away into the herd of swine." 32And He said to them, "Go." And, having come out, they went away into the swine; and, behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep into the sea, and died in the waters! 33And those feeding them fled; and, going away into the city, they reported all things, and the things relating to the demoniacs. 34And, behold, all the city came forth to meet Jesus; and, seeing Him, they besought Him, that He would depart from their borders.
