Yahweh Surrounds His People

1 שִׁ֗יר (A Song) הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת (of the Ascents). הַבֹּטְחִ֥ים (Those trusting) בַּיהוָ֑ה (in YHWH) כְּֽהַר־ (are like Mount) צִיּ֥וֹן (Zion); לֹא־ (not) יִ֝מּ֗וֹט (can it be shaken); לְעוֹלָ֥ם (forever) יֵשֵֽׁב׃ (it abides).

2 יְֽרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם (Jerusalem), הָרִים֮ (the mountains) סָבִ֪יב (surround) לָ֥הּ (her), וַ֭יהוָה (and YHWH) סָבִ֣יב (surrounds) לְעַמּ֑וֹ (His people) מֵ֝עַתָּ֗ה (from now) וְעַד־ (even to) עוֹלָֽם׃ (forever).

3 כִּ֤י (For) לֹ֪א (not) יָנ֡וּחַ (shall rest) שֵׁ֤בֶט (the rod) הָרֶ֗שַׁע (of the wicked) עַל֮ (upon) גּוֹרַ֪ל (the lot) הַֽצַּדִּ֫יקִ֥ים (of the righteous), לְמַ֡עַן (so that) לֹא־ (not) יִשְׁלְח֖וּ (stretch out) הַצַּדִּיקִ֨ים (the righteous) בְּעַוְלָ֬תָה (to injustice) יְדֵיהֶֽם׃ (their hands).

4 הֵיטִ֣יבָה (Do good), יְ֭הוָה (O YHWH), לַטּוֹבִ֑ים (to the good) וְ֝לִֽישָׁרִ֗ים (and to the upright) בְּלִבּוֹתָֽם׃ (in their hearts).

5 וְהַמַּטִּ֤ים (And those turning) עַֽקַלְקַלּוֹתָ֗ם (to their crooked ways) יוֹלִיכֵ֣ם (will lead them away) יְ֭הוָה (YHWH) אֶת־ (with) פֹּעֲלֵ֣י (the workers) הָאָ֑וֶן (of iniquity). שָׁ֝ל֗וֹם (Peace be) עַל־ (upon) יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (Israel).
