1And He called to Moses,

Laws for Burnt Offerings
(Leviticus 6:8–13)

and YHWH spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting, saying, 2“Speak to the sons of Israel, and say to them: When any man from you⁺ brings near an offering to YHWH—from the livestock, from the herd, or from the flock—you⁺ shall bring near your⁺ offering.

3If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall bring near an unblemished male; to the door of the Tent of Meeting he shall bring it near of his own free will before the face of YHWH. 4And he shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted for him, to make atonement upon him.

5And he shall slaughter the son of the herd before the face of YHWH, and the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall bring near the blood, and they shall sprinkle the blood on the altar all around, which is at the door to the Tent of Meeting. 6And he shall skin the burnt offering, and he shall cut it into its pieces.

7And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar, and they shall arrange the wood on the fire. 8And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall arrange the pieces with the head and with the fat on the wood that is on the fire that is on the altar. 9And its entrails and its legs he shall wash with the water, and the priest shall burn all of it on the altar, a burnt offering, a fire offering, a pleasing aroma to YHWH.

10And if his offering is from the flock—from the sheep or from the goats—he shall bring near an unblemished male for a burnt offering. 11And he shall slaughter it on the north side of the altar before the face of YHWH, and the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall sprinkle its blood on the altar all around. 12And he shall cut it into its pieces, and with its head and with its fat, and the priest shall arrange them on the wood that is on the fire that is on the altar. 13And the entrails and the legs he shall wash with the water, and the priest shall bring all of it and burn it on the altar; it is a burnt offering, a fire offering, a pleasing aroma to YHWH.

14And if his offering to YHWH is a burnt offering from the bird, then he shall bring near his offering from the turtledoves or from the sons of the pigeon. 15And the priest shall bring it near to the altar, and he shall wring off its head, and he shall burn it on the altar; and its blood shall be drained out upon the side of the altar. 16And he shall remove its crop with its feathers, and he shall cast it beside the altar eastward, into the place of the ashes. 17And he shall split it by its wings, he shall not divide it completely, and the priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire. It is a burnt offering, a fire offering, a pleasing aroma to YHWH.
