Temptations and Trespasses 1And He said to His disciples,† “It is impossible for the stumbling blocks not to come, but woe to him through whom they come!
It is better for him if a millstone† is put around his neck and he is thrown into the sea than that he might cause to stumble one of these little ones.
Take heed to yourselves: If your brother should sin,† rebuke him; and if he should repent, forgive him.
And if he should sin against you seven times in the day, and seven times† he should return to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you will forgive him.” The Power of Faith 5And the apostles said to the Lord, “Add to our faith!” 6And the Lord said, “If you⁺ have faith as a grain of mustard, you⁺ would have said to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would have obeyed you⁺.
And which of you⁺ having a servant plowing or shepherding, the one having come in out of the field, will say to him† ‘Having come, immediately recline’?
But will he not say to him, ‘Prepare what I may eat, and having girded yourself about, serve me while I eat and drink; and after these things you will eat and drink’?
Does he have favor to the servant because he did the things having been directed?†
Thus also you⁺, when you⁺ may have done all the things having been directed you⁺, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have done that which we were obligated to do.’” The Ten Lepers 11And it came to pass, in going to Jerusalem, that He was passing through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12And on His entering into a certain village, ten leprous† men met Him, who stood afar off. 13And they lifted up their voice, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” 14And having seen them, He said to them, “Having gone, show yourselves to the priests.”† And it came to pass in their going, that they were cleansed. 15And one of them, having seen that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice, 16and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a Samaritan. 17And having answered, Jesus said, “Were not the ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18Was there found none having returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19And He said to him, “Having risen up, go; your faith has saved you!”† The Coming of the Kingdom 20And having been questioned by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God is coming, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation, 21nor will they say, ‘Behold, here,’ or, ‘There.’ For behold, the kingdom of God is in your⁺ midst.”† 22And He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you⁺ will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you⁺ will not see it.
And they will say to you⁺, ‘Behold, there,’ or, ‘Behold, here.’ you⁺ should not go away, nor should you⁺ pursue.
For just as the lightning shines, flashing from the one part of the sky to the other of the sky, so will be the Son of Man in His day.†
But first it is necessary for Him to suffer many things and to be rejected by this generation.
And just as it came to pass in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man:
They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until that day Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
Likewise, just as it came to pass in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building,
and in that day Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and sulfur from heaven and destroyed all.
According to to the same things it will be in that day the Son of Man is revealed.
In that day, the one who will be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not come down to take them away; and likewise the one in the field, let him not return to the things behind.
Remember the wife of Lot!
Whoever may seek to keep† his life will lose it; but whoever may lose it will preserve it.
I say to you⁺, in that night there will be two upon one bed: The one will be taken, and the other will be left.
There will be two women grinding at the same place: The one will be taken, and the other will be left.” 37And answering, they say to Him, “Where, Lord?” And He said to them, “Where the body is, there also the vultures will be gathered together.”
