1 Samuel 15:2
Good News Translation
He is going to punish the people of Amalek because their ancestors opposed the Israelites when they were coming from Egypt.

New Revised Standard Version
Thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did in opposing the Israelites when they came up out of Egypt.

Contemporary English Version
"When the Israelites were on their way out of Egypt, the nation of Amalek attacked them. I am the LORD All-Powerful, and now I am going to make Amalek pay!
