Good News Translation
There before the people they could not catch him in a thing, so they kept quiet, amazed at his answer.

And they were not able in the presence of the people to trap him by what he said; and being amazed by his answer, they became silent.

Jesus' enemies could not catch him saying anything wrong there in front of the people. They were amazed at his answer and kept quiet.
