Praise, for David himself. I will extol thee, O God my king: and I will bless thy name for ever; yea, for ever and ever.
1015. David's This incomparable song of praise which is the last of the acrostic or alphabetical Psalm, each verse beginning with a consecutive letter of the Hebrew alphabet, is supposed to have been composed by David towards the close of his life. Psalm of praise.

Hearken to the voice of my prayer, O my King and my God.
A psalm of a canticle, at the dedication of David's house.  I will extol thee, O Lord, for thou hast upheld me: and hast not made my enemies to rejoice over me.
For David, when he changed his countenance before Achimelech, who dismissed him, and he went his way.  I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall be always in my mouth.
I cried to him with my mouth: and I extolled him with my tongue.
My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name forever; yea, for ever and ever.
And speaking, he said: Blessed be the name of the Lord from eternity and for evermore: for wisdom and fortitude are his.
