Berean Study Bible | English Standard Version |
A Psalm of David. The LORD said to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” | 1The LORD says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” |
The LORD extends Your mighty scepter from Zion: “Rule in the midst of Your enemies.” | 2The LORD sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies! |
Your people shall be willing on Your day of battle. Arrayed in holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, to You belongs the dew of Your youth. | 3Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power, in holy garments; from the womb of the morning, the dew of your youth will be yours. |
The LORD has sworn and will not change His mind: “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.” | 4The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind, “You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.” |
The Lord is at Your right hand; He will crush kings in the day of His wrath. | 5The Lord is at your right hand; he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath. |
He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead; He will crush the leaders far and wide. | 6He will execute judgment among the nations, filling them with corpses; he will shatter chiefs over the wide earth. |
He will drink from the brook by the road; therefore He will lift up His head. | 7He will drink from the brook by the way; therefore he will lift up his head. |
