Sing the glory of His name; make His praise glorious.2Sing praise about the glory of his name. Make his praise glorious.
Say to God, “How awesome are Your deeds! So great is Your power that Your enemies cower before You.3Say to God: "How awesome are your works! Because of your great strength your enemies cringe before you."
All the earth bows down to You; they sing praise to You; they sing praise to Your name.” Selah4The whole earth worships you. They sing praise to you. They sing praise to your name. Interlude
Come and see the works of God; how awesome are His deeds toward mankind.5Come and see the awesome works of God on behalf of human beings:
He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the waters on foot; there we rejoiced in Him.6He turned the sea into dry land. Israel crossed the river on foot; let us rejoice in him.
He rules forever by His power; His eyes watch the nations. Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah7He rules by his power forever, his eyes watching over the nations. Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Interlude
Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of His praise be heard.8Bless our God, people, and let the sound of his praise be heard.
He preserves our lives and keeps our feet from slipping.9He gives us life and does not permit our feet to slip.
For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us like silver.10For you, God, tested us, to purify us like fine silver.
You led us into the net; You laid burdens on our backs.11You have led us into a trap and set burdens on our backs.
You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but You brought us into abundance.12You caused men to ride over us. You brought us through fire and water, but you led us to abundance.
I will enter Your house with burnt offerings; I will fulfill my vows to You—13I will come to your house with burnt offerings. I will fulfill my vows to you
the vows that my lips promised and my mouth spoke in my distress.14that my lips uttered and that my mouth spoke when I was in trouble.
I will offer You fatlings as burnt offerings, with the fragrant smoke of rams; I will offer bulls and goats. Selah15I will offer to you burnt offerings of fat, along with the smoke of the sacrifice of rams. I will offer bulls along with goats. Interlude
Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for me.16Come and listen, all of you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me.
I cried out to Him with my mouth and praised Him with my tongue.17I called aloud to him and praised him with my tongue.
If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.18Were I to cherish iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not listen to me.
But God has surely heard; He has attended to the sound of my prayer.19Surely God has heard, and he paid attention to my prayers.
Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld from me His loving devotion!20Blessed be God, who did not turn away my prayers nor his gracious love from me.
