For the choirmaster. A song. A Psalm. Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth!1To the chief Musician, A Song or Psalm. Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:
Sing the glory of His name; make His praise glorious.2Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.
Say to God, “How awesome are Your deeds! So great is Your power that Your enemies cower before You.3Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.
All the earth bows down to You; they sing praise to You; they sing praise to Your name.” Selah4All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.
Come and see the works of God; how awesome are His deeds toward mankind.5Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.
He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the waters on foot; there we rejoiced in Him.6He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him.
He rules forever by His power; His eyes watch the nations. Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah7He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.
Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of His praise be heard.8O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:
He preserves our lives and keeps our feet from slipping.9Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.
For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us like silver.10For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
You led us into the net; You laid burdens on our backs.11Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins.
You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but You brought us into abundance.12Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.
I will enter Your house with burnt offerings; I will fulfill my vows to You—13I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,
the vows that my lips promised and my mouth spoke in my distress.14Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.
I will offer You fatlings as burnt offerings, with the fragrant smoke of rams; I will offer bulls and goats. Selah15I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.
Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for me.16Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
I cried out to Him with my mouth and praised Him with my tongue.17I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.
If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.18If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
But God has surely heard; He has attended to the sound of my prayer.19But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld from me His loving devotion!20Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
