LORD, I seek refuge in you; let me never be disgraced. | 1In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame. |
In your justice, rescue and deliver me; listen closely to me and save me. | 2In Your justice, rescue and deliver me; incline Your ear and save me. |
Be a rock of refuge for me, where I can always go. Give the command to save me, for you are my rock and fortress. | 3Be my rock of refuge, where I can always go. Give the command to save me, for You are my rock and my fortress. |
Deliver me, my God, from the power of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and oppressive. | 4Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and ruthless. |
For you are my hope, Lord GOD, my confidence from my youth. | 5For You are my hope, O Lord GOD, my confidence from my youth. |
I have leaned on you from birth; you took me from my mother's womb. My praise is always about you. | 6I have leaned on You since birth; You pulled me from my mother’s womb. My praise is always for You. |
I am like a miraculous sign to many, and you are my strong refuge. | 7I have become a portent to many, but You are my strong refuge. |
My mouth is full of praise and honor to you all day long. | 8My mouth is filled with Your praise and with Your splendor all day long. |
Don't discard me in my old age. As my strength fails, do not abandon me. | 9Do not discard me in my old age; do not forsake me when my strength fails. |
For my enemies talk about me, and those who spy on me plot together, | 10For my enemies speak against me, and those who lie in wait for my life conspire, |
saying, "God has abandoned him; chase him and catch him, for there is no one to rescue him." | 11saying, “God has forsaken him; pursue him and seize him, for there is no one to rescue him.” |
God, do not be far from me; my God, hurry to help me. | 12Be not far from me, O God. Hurry, O my God, to help me. |
May my adversaries be disgraced and destroyed; may those who intend to harm me be covered with disgrace and humiliation. | 13May the accusers of my soul be ashamed and consumed; may those who seek my harm be covered with scorn and disgrace. |
But I will hope continually and will praise you more and more. | 14But I will always hope and will praise You more and more. |
My mouth will tell about your righteousness and your salvation all day long, though I cannot sum them up. | 15My mouth will declare Your righteousness and Your salvation all day long, though I cannot know their full measure. |
I come because of the mighty acts of the Lord GOD; I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone. | 16I will enter in the strength of the Lord GOD; I will proclaim Your righteousness—Yours alone. |
God, you have taught me from my youth, and I still proclaim your wondrous works. | 17O God, You have taught me from my youth, and to this day I proclaim Your marvelous deeds. |
Even while I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me, while I proclaim your power to another generation, your strength to all who are to come. | 18Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, until I proclaim Your power to the next generation, Your might to all who are to come. |
Your righteousness reaches the heights, God, you who have done great things; God, who is like you? | 19Your righteousness reaches to the heavens, O God, You who have done great things. Who, O God, is like You? |
You caused me to experience many troubles and misfortunes, but you will revive me again. You will bring me up again, even from the depths of the earth. | 20Though You have shown me many troubles and misfortunes, You will revive me once again. Even from the depths of the earth You will bring me back up. |
You will increase my honor and comfort me once again. | 21You will increase my honor and comfort me once again. |
Therefore, I will praise you with a harp for your faithfulness, my God; I will sing to you with a lyre, Holy One of Israel. | 22So I will praise You with the harp for Your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praise to You with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel. |
My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you because you have redeemed me. | 23When I sing praise to You my lips will shout for joy, along with my soul, which You have redeemed. |
Therefore, my tongue will proclaim your righteousness all day long, for those who intend to harm me will be disgraced and confounded. | 24My tongue will indeed proclaim Your righteousness all day long, for those who seek my harm are disgraced and confounded. |
