Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship.1Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
For by the grace given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith to each one.3For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.
Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function,4For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function,
in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another.5so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the proportion of one's faith;6Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith;
if service, use it in service; if teaching, in teaching;7if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching;
if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, with generosity; leading, with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness.8or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
Let love be without hypocrisy. Detest evil; cling to what is good.9Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.
Love one another deeply as brothers and sisters. Outdo one another in showing honor.10Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;
Do not lack diligence in zeal; be fervent in the Spirit; serve the Lord.11not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer.12rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,
Share with the saints in their needs; pursue hospitality.13contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.15Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud; instead, associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own estimation.16Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Give careful thought to do what is honorable in everyone's eyes.17Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men.
If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.18If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.
Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for God's wrath, because it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.19Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord.
But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head.20"BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD."
Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
