| 11Now, look! The Lord's hand is against you. You are going to be blind, and will not see the sun for a time." | 27For the residents of Jerusalem and their rulers, since they did not recognize Him or the voices of the prophets that are read every Sabbath, have fulfilled their words by condemning Him. | 27"For those who live in Jerusalem, and their rulers, recognizing neither Him nor the utterances of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled these by condemning Him. |

| 34Since He raised Him from the dead, never to return to decay, He has spoken in this way, I will grant you the faithful covenant blessings made to David. | 34"As for the fact that He raised Him up from the dead, no longer to return to decay, He has spoken in this way: 'I WILL GIVE YOU THE HOLY and SURE blessings OF DAVID.' |

| 36For David, after serving his own generation in God's plan, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and decayed. | 36"For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep, and was laid among his fathers and underwent decay; |
| 37But the One God raised up did not decay. | 37but He whom God raised did not undergo decay. |
| 38Therefore, let it be known to you, brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you, | 38"Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, |
| 39and everyone who believes in Him is justified from everything that you could not be justified from through the law of Moses. | 39and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses. |
| 40So beware that what is said in the prophets does not happen to you: | 40"Therefore take heed, so that the thing spoken of in the Prophets may not come upon you: |
| 41Look, you scoffers, marvel and vanish away, because I am doing a work in your days, a work that you will never believe, even if someone were to explain it to you." | 41'BEHOLD, YOU SCOFFERS, AND MARVEL, AND PERISH; FOR I AM ACCOMPLISHING A WORK IN YOUR DAYS, A WORK WHICH YOU WILL NEVER BELIEVE, THOUGH SOMEONE SHOULD DESCRIBE IT TO YOU.'" |
| 42As they were leaving, the people begged that these matters be presented to them the following Sabbath. | 42As Paul and Barnabas were going out, the people kept begging that these things might be spoken to them the next Sabbath. |
| 43After the synagogue had been dismissed, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who were speaking with them and persuading them to continue in the grace of God. | 43Now when the meeting of the synagogue had broken up, many of the Jews and of the God-fearing proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, were urging them to continue in the grace of God. |
| 44The following Sabbath almost the whole town assembled to hear the message of the Lord. | 44The next Sabbath nearly the whole city assembled to hear the word of the Lord. |
| 45But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began to oppose what Paul was saying by insulting him. | 45But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began contradicting the things spoken by Paul, and were blaspheming. |
| 46Then Paul and Barnabas boldly said: "It was necessary that God's message be spoken to you first.
