ISV Parallel BSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionBerean Study Bible
Great is the LORD! For he is to be praised greatly, even in the city of our God, his holy mountain.1A song. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, His holy mountain.
Beautifully situated, the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion towards the north, the city of the great King.2Beautiful in loftiness, the joy of all the earth, like the peaks of Zaphon is Mount Zion, the city of the great King.
Within her citadels God is known as a place of refuge.3God is in her citadels; He has shown Himself to be a fortress.
Behold, when the kings assembled together, when they traveled together,4For behold, the kings assembled; they all advanced together.
they looked and were awestruck; they became afraid and ran away.5They saw and were astounded; they fled in terror.
Trembling seized them there, pains like those of a woman in labor,6Trembling seized them there, anguish like a woman in labor.
as when an east wind destroyed the ships of Tarshish.7With a wind from the east You wrecked the ships of Tarshish.
Just as we have heard, so have we seen; in the city of the LORD of the heavenly armies— even in the city of our God— God will establish her forever. Interlude8As we have heard, so we have seen in the city of the LORD of Hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish her forever. Selah
God, we have meditated on your gracious love in the midst of your Temple.9Within Your temple, O God, we contemplate Your loving devotion.
God, according to your name, so is your praise to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with righteousness.10Your name, O God, like Your praise, reaches to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness.
Mount Zion will be glad; the towns of Judah will rejoice because of your judgments.11Mount Zion is glad, the daughters of Judah rejoice, on account of Your judgments.
March around Zion; encircle her; count her towers.12March around Zion, encircle her, count her towers,
Take note of her ramparts; investigate her citadels; that you may speak about them to the next generation.13consider her ramparts, tour her citadels, that you may tell the next generation.
For this God is our God forever and ever. He will guide us until death.14For this God is our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even till death.
