ISV Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionKing James Bible
Great is the LORD! For he is to be praised greatly, even in the city of our God, his holy mountain.1A Song and Psalm for the sons of Korah. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.
Beautifully situated, the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion towards the north, the city of the great King.2Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
Within her citadels God is known as a place of refuge.3God is known in her palaces for a refuge.
Behold, when the kings assembled together, when they traveled together,4For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.
they looked and were awestruck; they became afraid and ran away.5They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.
Trembling seized them there, pains like those of a woman in labor,6Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.
as when an east wind destroyed the ships of Tarshish.7Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.
Just as we have heard, so have we seen; in the city of the LORD of the heavenly armies— even in the city of our God— God will establish her forever. Interlude8As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.
God, we have meditated on your gracious love in the midst of your Temple.9We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.
God, according to your name, so is your praise to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with righteousness.10According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
Mount Zion will be glad; the towns of Judah will rejoice because of your judgments.11Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.
March around Zion; encircle her; count her towers.12Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.
Take note of her ramparts; investigate her citadels; that you may speak about them to the next generation.13Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.
For this God is our God forever and ever. He will guide us until death.14For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
