| 2Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt. | 2May those who seek my life be ashamed and confounded; may those who wish me harm be repelled and humiliated. |
| 3Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha. | 3May those who say, “Aha, aha!” retreat because of their shame. |
| 4Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. | 4May all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; may those who love Your salvation always say, “Let God be magnified!” |
