King James Bible | New Living Translation |
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD. | 1Please, God, rescue me! Come quickly, LORD, and help me. |
Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt. | 2May those who try to kill me be humiliated and put to shame. May those who take delight in my trouble be turned back in disgrace. |
Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha. | 3Let them be horrified by their shame, for they said, “Aha! We’ve got him now!” |
Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. | 4But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, “God is great!” |
But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying. | 5But as for me, I am poor and needy; please hurry to my aid, O God. You are my helper and my savior; O LORD, do not delay. |
