Psalm 116
KJV Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleChristian Standard Bible
I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.1I love the LORD because he has heard my appeal for mercy.
Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.2Because he has turned his ear to me, I will call out to him as long as I live.
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.3The ropes of death were wrapped around me, and the torments of Sheol overcame me; I encountered trouble and sorrow.
Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.4Then I called on the name of the LORD: "LORD, save me!"
Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.5The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is compassionate.
The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.6The LORD guards the inexperienced; I was helpless, and he saved me.
Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.7Return to your rest, my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.
For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.8For you, LORD, rescued me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.
I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.9I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.
I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:10I believed, even when I said, "I am severely oppressed."
I said in my haste, All men are liars.11In my alarm I said, "Everyone is a liar."
What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?12How can I repay the LORD for all the good he has done for me?
I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.13I will take the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD.
I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.14I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people.
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.15The death of his faithful ones is valuable in the LORD's sight.
O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.16LORD, I am indeed your servant; I am your servant, the son of your female servant. You have loosened my bonds.
I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.17I will offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the LORD.
I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people,18I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people,
In the courts of the LORD'S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.19in the courts of the LORD's house--within you, Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
