Psalm 116
KJV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.1I love the LORD, because He hears My voice and my supplications.
Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.2Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live.
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.3The cords of death encompassed me And the terrors of Sheol came upon me; I found distress and sorrow.
Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.4Then I called upon the name of the LORD: "O LORD, I beseech You, save my life!"
Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.5Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; Yes, our God is compassionate.
The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.6The LORD preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me.
Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.7Return to your rest, O my soul, For the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.
For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.8For You have rescued my soul from death, My eyes from tears, My feet from stumbling.
I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.9I shall walk before the LORD In the land of the living.
I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:10I believed when I said, "I am greatly afflicted."
I said in my haste, All men are liars.11I said in my alarm, "All men are liars."
What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?12What shall I render to the LORD For all His benefits toward me?
I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.13I shall lift up the cup of salvation And call upon the name of the LORD.
I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.14I shall pay my vows to the LORD, Oh may it be in the presence of all His people.
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.15Precious in the sight of the LORD Is the death of His godly ones.
O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.16O LORD, surely I am Your servant, I am Your servant, the son of Your handmaid, You have loosed my bonds.
I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.17To You I shall offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving, And call upon the name of the LORD.
I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people,18I shall pay my vows to the LORD, Oh may it be in the presence of all His people,
In the courts of the LORD'S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.19In the courts of the LORD'S house, In the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Praise the LORD!
