King James Bible | Holman Christian Standard Bible |
O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. | 1Come, let us shout joyfully to the LORD, shout triumphantly to the rock of our salvation! |
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. | 2Let us enter His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout triumphantly to Him in song. |
For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. | 3For the LORD is a great God, a great King above all gods. |
In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. | 4The depths of the earth are in His hand, and the mountain peaks are His. |
The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. | 5The sea is His; He made it. His hands formed the dry land. |
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. | 6Come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. |
For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, | 7For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, the sheep under His care. Today, if you hear His voice: |
Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: | 8Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah, as on that day at Massah in the wilderness |
When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work. | 9where your fathers tested Me; they tried Me, though they had seen what I did. |
Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways: | 10For 40 years I was disgusted with that generation; I said, "They are a people whose hearts go astray; they do not know My ways." |
Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest. | 11So I swore in My anger," They will not enter My rest." |
