Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:1Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.2We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;3And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance,
And patience, experience; and experience, hope:4endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.5This hope will not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.6For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment, Christ died for the ungodly.
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.7For rarely will someone die for a just person--though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.8But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.9Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath.
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.10For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, then how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life!
And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.11And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have now received this reconciliation through Him.
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all men, because all sinned.
(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.13In fact, sin was in the world before the law, but sin is not charged to a person's account when there is no law.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.14Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin in the likeness of Adam's transgression. He is a prototype of the Coming One.
But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.15But the gift is not like the trespass. For if by the one man's trespass the many died, how much more have the grace of God and the gift overflowed to the many by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ.
And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.16And the gift is not like the one man's sin, because from one sin came the judgment, resulting in condemnation, but from many trespasses came the gift, resulting in justification.
For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)17Since by the one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive the overflow of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.
Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.18So then, as through one trespass there is condemnation for everyone, so also through one righteous act there is life-giving justification for everyone.
For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.19For just as through one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:20The law came along to multiply the trespass. But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even more
That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.21so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness, resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
