A Psalm, a Song for the Sabbath day. It is good to give thanks to the LORD And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; | 1A Psalm or Song for the sabbath day. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: |
To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning And Your faithfulness by night, | 2To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, |
With the ten-stringed lute and with the harp, With resounding music upon the lyre. | 3Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound. |
For You, O LORD, have made me glad by what You have done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands. | 4For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. |
How great are Your works, O LORD! Your thoughts are very deep. | 5O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep. |
A senseless man has no knowledge, Nor does a stupid man understand this: | 6A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this. |
That when the wicked sprouted up like grass And all who did iniquity flourished, It was only that they might be destroyed forevermore. | 7When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever: |
But You, O LORD, are on high forever. | 8But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore. |
For, behold, Your enemies, O LORD, For, behold, Your enemies will perish; All who do iniquity will be scattered. | 9For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. |
But You have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil. | 10But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil. |
And my eye has looked exultantly upon my foes, My ears hear of the evildoers who rise up against me. | 11Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me. |
The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree, He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. | 12The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. |
Planted in the house of the LORD, They will flourish in the courts of our God. | 13Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. |
They will still yield fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and very green, | 14They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; |
To declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. | 15To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. |
