| 1Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. | 1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. |
| 2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. | 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. |
| 3For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. | 3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. |
| 4For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, | 4For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: |
| 5so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. | 5So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. |
| 6Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; | 6Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; |
| 7if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; | 7Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; |
| 8or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. | 8Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. |
| 9Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. | 9Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. |
| 10Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; | 10Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; |

| 14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. | 14Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. |
| 15Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. | 15Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. |
| 16Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. | 16Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. |
| 17Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. | 17Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. |
| 18If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. | 18If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. |
| 19Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord. | 19Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. |
| 20"BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD." | 20Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. |
| 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. | 21Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. |
