NASB Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New American Standard Bible 1995NET Bible
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.1Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice--alive, holy, and pleasing to God--which is your reasonable service.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.2Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God--what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.
For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.3For by the grace given to me I say to every one of you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think, but to think with sober discernment, as God has distributed to each of you a measure of faith.
For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function,4For just as in one body we have many members, and not all the members serve the same function,
so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.5so we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually we are members who belong to one another.
Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith;6And we have different gifts according to the grace given to us. If the gift is prophecy, that individual must use it in proportion to his faith.
if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching;7If it is service, he must serve; if it is teaching, he must teach;
or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.8if it is exhortation, he must exhort; if it is contributing, he must do so with sincerity; if it is leadership, he must do so with diligence; if it is showing mercy, he must do so with cheerfulness.
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.9Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil, cling to what is good.
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;10Be devoted to one another with mutual love, showing eagerness in honoring one another.
not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;11Do not lag in zeal, be enthusiastic in spirit, serve the Lord.
rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,12Rejoice in hope, endure in suffering, persist in prayer.
contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.13Contribute to the needs of the saints, pursue hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.14Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.15Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.16Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited.
Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men.17Do not repay anyone evil for evil; consider what is good before all people.
If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.18If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all people.
Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord.19Do not avenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God's wrath, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay," says the Lord.
"BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD."20Rather, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing this you will be heaping burning coals on his head.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
