A Song of Ascents. How blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways. | 1A song of ascents. How blessed is every one of the LORD's loyal followers, each one who keeps his commands! |
When you shall eat of the fruit of your hands, You will be happy and it will be well with you. | 2You will eat what you worked so hard to grow. You will be blessed and secure. |
Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine Within your house, Your children like olive plants Around your table. | 3Your wife will be like a fruitful vine in the inner rooms of your house; your children will be like olive branches, as they sit all around your table. |
Behold, for thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the LORD. | 4Yes indeed, the man who fears the LORD will be blessed in this way. |
The LORD bless you from Zion, And may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. | 5May the LORD bless you from Zion, that you might see Jerusalem prosper all the days of your life, |
Indeed, may you see your children's children. Peace be upon Israel! | 6and that you might see your grandchildren. May Israel experience peace! |
