Psalm 141
NASB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995New International Version
1A Psalm of David. O LORD, I call upon You; hasten to me! Give ear to my voice when I call to You!1A psalm of David. I call to you, LORD, come quickly to me; hear me when I call to you.
2May my prayer be counted as incense before You; The lifting up of my hands as the evening offering.2May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.
3Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.3Set a guard over my mouth, LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.
4Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice deeds of wickedness With men who do iniquity; And do not let me eat of their delicacies.4Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil so that I take part in wicked deeds along with those who are evildoers; do not let me eat their delicacies.
5Let the righteous smite me in kindness and reprove me; It is oil upon the head; Do not let my head refuse it, For still my prayer is against their wicked deeds.5Let a righteous man strike me--that is a kindness; let him rebuke me--that is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it, for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers.
6Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock, And they hear my words, for they are pleasant.6Their rulers will be thrown down from the cliffs, and the wicked will learn that my words were well spoken.
7As when one plows and breaks open the earth, Our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.7They will say, "As one plows and breaks up the earth, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of the grave."
8For my eyes are toward You, O GOD, the Lord; In You I take refuge; do not leave me defenseless.8But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign LORD; in you I take refuge--do not give me over to death.
9Keep me from the jaws of the trap which they have set for me, And from the snares of those who do iniquity.9Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers, from the snares they have laid for me.
10Let the wicked fall into their own nets, While I pass by safely.10Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.
