Psalm 71
NASB Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995New International Version
In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; Let me never be ashamed.1In you, LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame.
In Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; Incline Your ear to me and save me.2In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me; turn your ear to me and save me.
Be to me a rock of habitation to which I may continually come; You have given commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress.3Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.
Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the grasp of the wrongdoer and ruthless man,4Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel.
For You are my hope; O Lord GOD, You are my confidence from my youth.5For you have been my hope, Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth.
By You I have been sustained from my birth; You are He who took me from my mother's womb; My praise is continually of You.6From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother's womb. I will ever praise you.
I have become a marvel to many, For You are my strong refuge.7I have become a sign to many; you are my strong refuge.
My mouth is filled with Your praise And with Your glory all day long.8My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long.
Do not cast me off in the time of old age; Do not forsake me when my strength fails.9Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone.
For my enemies have spoken against me; And those who watch for my life have consulted together,10For my enemies speak against me; those who wait to kill me conspire together.
Saying, "God has forsaken him; Pursue and seize him, for there is no one to deliver."11They say, "God has forsaken him; pursue him and seize him, for no one will rescue him."
O God, do not be far from me; O my God, hasten to my help!12Do not be far from me, my God; come quickly, God, to help me.
Let those who are adversaries of my soul be ashamed and consumed; Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor, who seek to injure me.13May my accusers perish in shame; may those who want to harm me be covered with scorn and disgrace.
But as for me, I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more.14As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.
My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And of Your salvation all day long; For I do not know the sum of them.15My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds, of your saving acts all day long-- though I know not how to relate them all.
I will come with the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.16I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, Sovereign LORD; I will proclaim your righteous deeds, yours alone.
O God, You have taught me from my youth, And I still declare Your wondrous deeds.17Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.18Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.
For Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You?19Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens, you who have done great things. Who is like you, God?
You who have shown me many troubles and distresses Will revive me again, And will bring me up again from the depths of the earth.20Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up.
May You increase my greatness And turn to comfort me.21You will increase my honor and comfort me once more.
I will also praise You with a harp, Even Your truth, O my God; To You I will sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.22I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God; I will sing praise to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel.
My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You; And my soul, which You have redeemed.23My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you-- I whom you have delivered.
My tongue also will utter Your righteousness all day long; For they are ashamed, for they are humiliated who seek my hurt.24My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long, for those who wanted to harm me have been put to shame and confusion.
