So Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person in whom the LORD has put skill and ability to know how to do all the work for the service of the sanctuary are to do the work according to all that the LORD has commanded." 1Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded.
Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person in whom the LORD had put skill--everyone whose heart stirred him to volunteer to do the work,2And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:
and they received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought to do the work for the service of the sanctuary, and they still continued to bring him a freewill offering each morning.3And they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it withal. And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning.
So all the skilled people who were doing all the work on the sanctuary came from the work they were doing4And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work which they made;
and told Moses, "The people are bringing much more than is needed for the completion of the work which the LORD commanded us to do!" 5And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make.
Moses instructed them to take his message throughout the camp, saying, "Let no man or woman do any more work for the offering for the sanctuary." So the people were restrained from bringing any more.6And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.
Now the materials were more than enough for them to do all the work. 7For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.
All the skilled among those who were doing the work made the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twisted linen and blue and purple and scarlet; they were made with cherubim that were the work of an artistic designer.8And every wise hearted man among them that wrought the work of the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work made he them.
The length of one curtain was forty-two feet, and the width of one curtain was six feet--the same size for each of the curtains.9The length of one curtain was twenty and eight cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: the curtains were all of one size.
He joined five of the curtains to one another, and the other five curtains he joined to one another.10And he coupled the five curtains one unto another: and the other five curtains he coupled one unto another.
He made loops of blue material along the edge of the end curtain in the first set; he did the same along the edge of the end curtain in the second set.11And he made loops of blue on the edge of one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling: likewise he made in the uttermost side of another curtain, in the coupling of the second.
He made fifty loops on the first curtain, and he made fifty loops on the end curtain that was in the second set, with the loops opposite one another.12Fifty loops made he in one curtain, and fifty loops made he in the edge of the curtain which was in the coupling of the second: the loops held one curtain to another.
He made fifty gold clasps and joined the curtains together to one another with the clasps, so that the tabernacle was a unit. 13And he made fifty taches of gold, and coupled the curtains one unto another with the taches: so it became one tabernacle.
He made curtains of goats' hair for a tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven curtains.14And he made curtains of goats' hair for the tent over the tabernacle: eleven curtains he made them.
The length of one curtain was forty-five feet, and the width of one curtain was six feet--one size for all eleven curtains.15The length of one curtain was thirty cubits, and four cubits was the breadth of one curtain: the eleven curtains were of one size.
He joined five curtains by themselves and six curtains by themselves.16And he coupled five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves.
He made fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in the first set and fifty loops along the edge of the curtain that joined the second set.17And he made fifty loops upon the uttermost edge of the curtain in the coupling, and fifty loops made he upon the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.
He made fifty bronze clasps to join the tent together so that it might be a unit.18And he made fifty taches of brass to couple the tent together, that it might be one.
He made a covering for the tent out of ram skins dyed red and over that a covering of fine leather. 19And he made a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering of badgers' skins above that.
He made the frames for the tabernacle of acacia wood as uprights.20And he made boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood, standing up.
The length of each frame was fifteen feet, the width of each frame was two and a quarter feet,21The length of a board was ten cubits, and the breadth of a board one cubit and a half.
with two projections per frame parallel one to another. He made all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.22One board had two tenons, equally distant one from another: thus did he make for all the boards of the tabernacle.
So he made frames for the tabernacle: twenty frames for the south side.23And he made boards for the tabernacle; twenty boards for the south side southward:
He made forty silver bases under the twenty frames--two bases under the first frame for its two projections, and likewise two bases under the next frame for its two projections,24And forty sockets of silver he made under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his two tenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons.
and for the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made twenty frames25And for the other side of the tabernacle, which is toward the north corner, he made twenty boards,
and their forty silver bases, two bases under the first frame and two bases under the next frame.26And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.
And for the back of the tabernacle on the west he made six frames.27And for the sides of the tabernacle westward he made six boards.
He made two frames for the corners of the tabernacle on the back.28And two boards made he for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.
At the two corners they were doubled at the lower end and finished together at the top in one ring. So he did for both.29And they were coupled beneath, and coupled together at the head thereof, to one ring: thus he did to both of them in both the corners.
So there were eight frames and their silver bases, sixteen bases, two bases under each frame. 30And there were eight boards; and their sockets were sixteen sockets of silver, under every board two sockets.
He made bars of acacia wood, five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle31And he made bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,
and five bars for the frames on the second side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the frames of the tabernacle for the back side on the west.32And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the sides westward.
He made the middle bar to reach from end to end in the center of the frames.33And he made the middle bar to shoot through the boards from the one end to the other.
He overlaid the frames with gold and made their rings of gold to provide places for the bars, and he overlaid the bars with gold. 34And he overlaid the boards with gold, and made their rings of gold to be places for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.
He made the special curtain of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen; he made it with cherubim, the work of an artistic designer.35And he made a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: with cherubims made he it of cunning work.
He made for it four posts of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold, with gold hooks, and he cast for them four silver bases. 36And he made thereunto four pillars of shittim wood, and overlaid them with gold: their hooks were of gold; and he cast for them four sockets of silver.
He made a hanging for the entrance of the tent of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen, the work of an embroiderer,37And he made an hanging for the tabernacle door of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, of needlework;
and its five posts and their hooks. He overlaid their tops and their bands with gold, but their five bases were bronze. 38And the five pillars of it with their hooks: and he overlaid their chapiters and their fillets with gold: but their five sockets were of brass.
